STILL LOTUS by Jim Tavernetti, limited edition 1/67
100% of Jim's artist earnings go to kids with autism. Every dollar Jim earns from this piece goes to helping highly sensitive kids with autism. For a lot of these kids, noise and echo aren't just annoying, they're overwhelming. Quiet matters to them more than anyone, and owning this piece helps make more of it.
This is an original artwork by Jim Tavernetti, printed on acoustic fabric, and packaged in our patent pending acoustic frame. There will only be 67 ever printed, and it comes with a certificate of authenticity. Still Lotus is the closed half of Jim's Dual Lotus pair. A single lotus that hasn't opened yet, leaning into the light. Jim kept it monochromatic, so nothing competes with the light. Framed in real poplar, so the wood grain becomes part of the piece. It's keeping quiet. Your room will too.
It works like a recording studio panel. Inside the frame is 2" Owens Corning 703, the same absorber pro sound studios use, rated NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) 1.0: it absorbs nearly all the sound that reaches it, nearly three times what a typical 1 inch foam tile does. Hang it as sound absorbing wall art in a home office, bedroom, living room or podcast room to soften echo and make every voice sound cleaner.
Measured performance. We tested our acoustic frames in a studio environment with calibrated microphones. In a 10×10 ft room, one 24×36 art piece cuts harsh echo by about 10%. Three take it down 25% and make voices noticeably clearer. Sound bounces off every wall, so one frame is a statement piece; two or three is when the room actually changes. If you're picking a second, start with Open Lotus, its other half. Jim made them as a pair, and a pair does more than look right: two frames absorb twice the sound of one, and hung on opposing walls they catch echo a single frame never touches. The Dual Lotus two pack gets you both and saves you $110.
