This is a two piece original artwork by Jim Tavernetti, printed on acoustic fabric, and packaged in our patent pending acoustic frames. This listing is a two pack, both frames are included. There will only be 67 of each ever printed, and each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity. Two lotus flowers, one still closed and one in full bloom, lean toward each other. Jim kept the pair monochromatic, so nothing competes with the light. Framed in real poplar, so the wood grain becomes part of the piece. It's a quiet pair. Your room will be too.
It works like a recording studio panel. Inside each frame is 2" Owens Corning 703, the same absorber pro sound studios use, rated NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) 1.0: it absorbs nearly all the sound that reaches it, nearly three times what a typical 1 inch foam tile does. Hang them as sound absorbing wall art in a home office, bedroom, living room or podcast room to soften echo and make every voice sound cleaner.
Measured performance. We tested our acoustic frames in a studio environment with calibrated microphones. In a 10×10 ft room, one 24×36 art piece cuts harsh echo by about 10%. Two take it down an estimated 15 to 20%, and three take it down 25% and make voices noticeably clearer. Sound bounces off every wall, so one frame is a statement piece; two or three is when the room actually changes. That is the case for the pair over a single: two frames absorb twice the sound of one, close to doubling the echo reduction, and on two different walls they catch reflections one frame never touches. Dual Lotus gets you there in one order.
Where to hang the pair. Sound bounces back and forth between walls, so these two perform best acoustically on opposing walls or on the two walls of a corner, where they catch reflections coming from different directions. Side by side on one wall still looks great and still works; splitting them up works harder.
